Patient’s frequently complain about the unavailability of counselors on the weekends
Talking with 1000s of patients over the years indicate that counselors may need to consider weekend hours. Many complaints were voiced, but one complaint stood out as an important issue to the respondents, the need for weekend hours. Many people with mental health issues say that stress plays a large factor in their anxiety, depression, relationship dysfunction, and other mental health issues. They seem to be saying that counselors could help just a bit more by contributing to a reduction in the stress of yet another health care appointment during busy week schedules. Trying to balance family, job, finances and other life needs is often stressful enough. Add on top of all that weekly sessions with a therapist and some find themselves in over their heads.
