<description>What a wonderful thing to have happen to an established church with a fine tradition.

Perhaps the new leaders will be interested in establishing a Lego design club. The reason I mention this is that often pastors trained in the Boston area are familiar with the MIT artificial intelligence lab and their use of Lego as a tool for AI research.

Youth scholarships are awarded each year in the Lego design area, and churches have been active in promoting this activity as a clean, constructive way of encouraging youth to exercise creativity and mingle with each other in a wholesome happy way.

For example, ten scholarships in the amount of $4,000 are offered by ToysPeriod, my favorite hobby shop. Designs need to be submitted by June 1 of each year, and the scholarships are designed in a following four year college career.

I am not a ToysPeriod employee just to be clear. I just purchase from them and have never been disappointed with the clean vintage Lego sets they provide as well as the expert consultation service in the area of layouts of all kinds, from Lego to Model trains they provide. They can coach youth (young and older) in designing the simplest to the most complex Lego or model train layouts. Nothing seems beyond their expertise.

Anyway, Lego designs and model railroad layouts or not, congratulations both to Rev Leyla King and Memorial Episcopal Church.
